Scotland Performs has now been running for some eight years, since 2007, and has been seen as a model of governance underpinned by a desire to promote wellbeing, with a dashboard of indicators which measure success across several domains.
The indicators provide a broad measure of national and societal wellbeing, incorporating a range of economic, social and environmental indicators and targets which are updated as soon as the data are available. You can use the information to assess progress towards the Scottish Government’s Purpose and National Outcomes. To give this model a greater permancy, the centrality of wellbeing has been embedded in legislation through the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act.
